PDO Threads

The PDO Thread treatment is a very unique method in cosmetic injectables. It stimulates collagen production and improves skin quality by creating volume and support. In addition, the PDO threads tighten and strength the skin so that a subtle lift can be achieved. It is a very effective treatment in areas show signs of ageing such as skin laxity and wrinkles.

FAQ

What is PDO Threads?

The PDO threads are made of specially designed dissolvable sutures called Pnolydioxaone. They are inserted via micro needles to form a mesh-like pattern for tightening and strengthening.  The PDO threads work by triggering fibroblasts, which induce your own collagen production, creating a tightening effect.

PDO thread lifts have a much lower risk of complications than facelift surgeries. There’s less risk of scarring, severe bruising, or bleeding when performed by a trained professional.

Suitable treatment areas:

  • face

  • neck

  • chest

  • arms

  • abdomen

  • buttocks

  • above the knees

Does it hurt?

Discomfort is minimised during treatment with use of a topical numbing cream. Bruising is common after this treatment, but swelling is minimal. A little tenderness at the injection site can be expected post treatment.

Recovery from a PDO thread lift is minimal. You may have some swelling and bruising for the first 1-2 days but you can return to most of your daily routines right away.

How long does it Last?

Once the threads remain in place for up to 6 months and then slowly dissolve. They start dissolving at approximately 3 months but the collagen stimulation can last up to 12 months. This long-lasting effect is due to improvement of the skin condition due to the stimulation of collagen and elastin.
